All to myself
I had Mary and Colin all to myself yesterday as Linton went for an interview in Seattle. We went to the brand new Whatcom Museum. It got big points both for having an exhibit of Northwest women artists, and for being architecturally interesting.

Family get together
Sunnyland Stomp
Our neighborhood, that's Sunnyland, had a backyard arts and crafts showcase on Friday. Linton, Hannah and I went out to check out the action. Our first stop was to our neighborhood circus arts warehouse (like ya do!) where Linton got a lesson in juggling pins.
We also visited our neighborhood bee keeper.
One gal was making clothing out of recycled material. Yup, that's a trash bag wedding dress, which was really beautiful.
The evening was a great little tour of the neighborhood.

Pine and Cedar lake trail
In an attempt to beat the day's heat we got up early this morning to go on the Pine and Cedar lake trail. It was lovely being that high up and shaded through this hot day.
Linton and Henry looking very fresh before climbing 1300 feet in the first mile and a half of the trail.
At the top there are two look outs. First, Mt. Baker looking bright, and lovely, and huge, much bigger than she normally appears in town where we only see her cap.
Then on the west side of the look out we sat and ate our lunch. The big island on the right is Orcas where we honeymooned. (awwww)
After lunch we trundled down to the lake side where we found a shady spot to hang out, swim, and read.
We are at home now just up from our naps, well Henry isn't but then he did run the entire five miles.

First summer swim
The first summer swim of many, I hope. Also I'm exceedingly happy that my camera is back from the repair shop, and that this is its re-inaugural blog post.
Here Henry and I are doing a quick toe dip to check that the water is okay before...
...the clothes come off and we swim!!
Meanwhile, Linton holds down the bank with his muscley poses.
