Pine and Cedar lake trail

In an attempt to beat the day's heat we got up early this morning to go on the Pine and Cedar lake trail. It was lovely being that high up and shaded through this hot day.

Linton and Henry looking very fresh before climbing 1300 feet in the first mile and a half of the trail.

At the top there are two look outs. First, Mt. Baker looking bright, and lovely, and huge, much bigger than she normally appears in town where we only see her cap.

Then on the west side of the look out we sat and ate our lunch. The big island on the right is Orcas where we honeymooned. (awwww)

After lunch we trundled down to the lake side where we found a shady spot to hang out, swim, and read.

We are at home now just up from our naps, well Henry isn't but then he did run the entire five miles.

  1. That just looks beautiful and I am super jealous that you had to climb a big hill to escape the heat instead of having to build an enormous fire to escape the cold.
