Saturday Sun

It was very sunny and warm Saturday. The nice weather was much needed, and oh has it been drizzly ever since. But never mind that now. Here are some pictures of the loveliness.

Side by side hammocks and soaring eagles.

Nan and Zack visited. Vroom, vroom!

It just so happens...

Linton has been planning a garbage pick up walk with Kieran for ages, it just so happens that Earth Day was yesterday. A happy coincidence.

The boys are very proud of their enormous haul. Good job, boys!

Dad takes a phone call in the middle of our date. It gives me time to snap a picture. Nice living next to the folks.

Birthday yarn

I got this yarn for my birthday and have finally knit it up. It has been a long time since I knit with this weight of yarn. It took some getting used to, but I got into the swing of it. This is the finished project that I blogged about taking on the bus with me a while ago.

Tulip season

The pub table is as close to tulips as I'm gettin'.

Ready to plant

I have planter boxes much deeper than last year's, thanks to Nan and Zack. They are filled with steaming compost from LaConner's, *ehem*, wastewater compost, and I am ready to plant! Now if only the freaking weather would cooperate. I know, April showers and all that, but I'm really ready for the rain to let up.

Okay - this one isn't a planter box from Nan and Zack. It's the sand box from the previous tenants reclaimed for gardening.

La Conner livin'

Several years ago I was walking through La Conner with my mom. We went down onto one of the docks in town; she told me it was the dock she stood on when she and Scott decided to move to La Conner. I sometimes find myself there, and think of my parents years ago.

A cookie by any other name

I just like the fact that these cookies are sometimes called snowballs, sometimes Russian tea cakes, and sometimes Mexican wedding cakes. They are very, very good. Recipes for these pepper the internet, you should try them sometime.

Nothin' much

I was taking pictures of my breakfast the other day - like ya do - when I set my camera down and this was framed. I like it, so thought I'd share.

sister visit

Amanda was up for a short visit. We stole away some one on one time getting ice cream and walking on Fir island.
