The hike goes to old homesteads, but after a couple of miles the trail turned into a sheet of ice and we turned back promising ourselves to return in the spring. During the walk Linton and I noticed our bodies are more thoroughly acclimated to the altitude, though we did go home to soak in the tub and sleep like stones.

Lion Gulch
After visiting the Stanley Hotel we went for a hike on the Lion Gulch Trail. It was a very pretty trail that kept close to a frozen creek. We delighted in letting Henry onto the ice to slip around Bambi style. It was Henry's first total off leash walk in the woods, and I was very nervous though he did well and knackered himself running.
